Georgia Southern quarterback Shai Werts has been cleared of a drug charge after police officers mistook bird poop for cocaine. The 21-year-old was pulled over by police officers in Clinton, South Carolina, for speeding on July 31. While sitting in the back of the patrol car, officers found 'white stuff' on the hood of Werts car. Werts said it was bird poop, but officers claimed the substance tested positive for cocaine. Werts was arrested, charged with possession of cocaine and suspended from the Georgia Southern University football team. On Thursday, prosecutors announced the charges were dropped after test results proved the substance was not cocaine. The suspension has now been lifted.
