A Yazidi girl who escaped after she was captured by ISIS jihadists said she was raped every day and attempted to kill herself.
The woman, who only identified herself as "Ekhlas," told The BBC she was 14 years old when ISIS fighters captured her in 2014. She and thousands of other Yazidi women were kidnapped in northern Iraq by the terrorist group. Ekhlas was held captive by an ISIS fighter.

“Every day for six months he raped me,” Ekhlas told the BBC. “I tried to kill myself.”
Ekhlas said her captor chose her out of a group of 150 other women.
“He picked me out of 150 by drawing lots,” Ekhlas said. “He was so ugly, like a beast, with his long hair. He smelt so bad, I was so frightened I couldn’t look at him.”
Ekhlas was able to escape six months after her capture while her captor was fighting. She sought shelter in a refugee camp.
